ABSTRACT

A 75-year-old female patient applied with decreased vision in her left eye for 4 months. The patient’s vision was 0.2 on the right, while on the left, she could temporally count fingers from 1 meter. A mass in the 6 o’clock position in the left eye, which was extending down to the vitreous, was detected on fundus examination. The patient was accepted to the service with the diagnosis of malignant melanoma, and left enucleation operation was performed under general anesthesia. Pathological inspection of the enucleation material was reported as papillary thyroid carcinoma metastasis to the choroid and retina. Differential diagnosis between primary and metastatic tumor of the eye must be done carefully.
